Spring Renewal Series: Redemption Isn’t Earned—It’s Practiced

Spring can bring reflection. For some, that reflection turns into revisiting mistakes, regrets, or things they wish they had done differently.

It’s easy to fall into the belief that we have to “earn” our way back—to prove we’ve changed, to make up for the past, or to carry guilt as a form of accountability.

But healing doesn’t usually happen through punishment. It happens through compassion.

Self-forgiveness doesn’t mean ignoring what happened. It means choosing not to define yourself by it.

Redemption is less about fixing everything and more about how you relate to yourself moving forward.

It might look like:

  • Acknowledging your past without letting it control your present
  • Letting go of the need to “get it exactly right” this time
  • Allowing yourself to grow without constant self-criticism

There’s a quiet kind of healing that happens when you stop fighting yourself. When you soften, even just a little.

Spring doesn’t demand perfection before growth. It simply creates space for it.
