Lauren Caffery
Counseling Intern
About Lauren
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” – Ghandi
Inspired by this philosophy, I am a counseling intern at Brown Counseling, passionate about supporting clients from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. I am dedicated to creating a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients of all ages can explore their challenges, build resilience, and work toward meaningful growth.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and strengths-based. I believe therapy is most effective when clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves, and I work to build trust through empathy, validation, and gentle guidance. I am passionate about meeting clients where they are and supporting them as they work toward achieving goals, healing, and lasting change. I am committed to empowering clients to develop insight, resilience, and effective coping strategies to enhance their overall well-being.
Fun fact: I love nature-based adventures. Research shows that time in nature supports therapeutic outcomes by promoting relaxation, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. Being outdoors can help calm the nervous system by lowering stress hormones, slowing heart rate, and easing muscle tension, creating a sense of safety and ease that many describe as “feel-good vibes.”
Lauren sees clients ages 5 to adult.
